The Budget session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will get underway shortly with the Governor ESL Narasimhan delivering the customary address to both the Houses.

The Budget for 2016-17 is expected to be presented on March 10 by the State Finance Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. On the same day, Agriculture Minister P Pulla Rao is expected to present a separate Agriculture Budget for the state.

After the address, the Business Advisory Committee of the House will decide on the agenda for the session and the way forward.

There are indications that the session is likely to be stormy with the Opposition YSR Congress Party planning to move a no-confidence motion against the Chandrababu Naidu Government for “its failures and inability to implement poll promises''.

The session commences at a time when eight MLAs of the Opposition YSR CP have defected to Telugu Desam Party.

Issues relating to defections, farmers’ concerns, construction of the capital city of Amaravati and reservations for Kapus are likely to rock the House.
