Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday dismissed a bail petition of Kadapa MP and YSR Congress Party President Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy in the illegal assets case.
Agreeing with the contention of the Central Bureau of Investigation that the bail plea was not maintainable, the court said Jagan could apply for a bail in a lower court after the filing of final chargesheet by the CBI. Earlier, a special CBI court had dismissed Jagan’s bail petitions in November and December 2012, after which he moved the High Court for bail. The CBI had arrested Jagan on May 27, 2012.
In another development, a local court in Sangareddy granted bail to MIM MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, in case related to the alleged abuse of district collector and joint collector in a land dispute in 2005.
