Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the State will have a new online mechanism for single-window clearance for industries by September 1.
The software is being designed by consultancy firm Deloitte.
The Chief Minister has directed the industries department to study industrial and investment policies of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and then come out with a new one for the State.
Following a review meeting of the industrial and investment sector in the State, he said the aim of the Government is to create an investor-friendly climate in the state.
Stating that Gujarat's single-window clearance mechanism facilitates faster clearances, Naidu said AP policy too should make clearances faster and remove hurdles for obtaining necessary permissions.
The Chief Minister in a statement said that a State Investment Promotion Council (SIPC) and District Investment Promotion Councils (DIPC) will be set up to give in-principle approvals for industries. A separate Front Office, at the state and district level, will be set up to receive applications.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister proposed that industrial parks in Visakhapatnam must have a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will monitor and follow up approvals of the companies located in the premises of the IT Park.
It is proposed to upgrade infrastructure and human resources at the district level, the latter by imparting training in soft skills to officials.
