The Andhra Pradesh Government has issued guidelines for waiver of crop and gold loans availed for agriculture, women self-help groups and weavers.
In an order issued by the State Finance Ministry, it has set a cap of Rs 1.5 lakh per family for crop loans and Rs 1 lakh for women self-help groups.
The order seeks to cover crop loans and agriculture gold loans up to December 2013.
The Andhra Pradesh Government had late on Thursday evening issued an order outlining the approach for waiver of crop and gold loans.
In order to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach all eligible families, data is to be collected from banks which have disbursed the loans, it said.
The order stated that the State Government or through notified agencies will settle the claim received from respective banks and pass on the benefit online to the account of beneficiaries.
Power issue
In another important develoment, AP Electricity Regulatory Commission has suggested that power sharing between AP and Telangana should be valid till 2018-19.
It observed that such an arrangement would be ideal between the two States.
