The paper mills in Andhra Pradesh should reduce water use, in tune with the international standards, and resort to recycling of water, according to AP Pollution Control Board Chairman GN Phani Kumar.
He was speaking here on Monday at a one-day seminar for the paper industries in the State. He said there were 40 paper millsin the State and they must make concerted efforts to reduce water use. He said the paper units should also adhere to all the norms laid down by the APPCB.
Siva Reddy, zonal environmental engineer, said technologies are available to reduce pollution and to reduce water use. They should be adopted by the mills.
