Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch Industry Mission on Wednesday at Visakhapatnam at a gathering of industrialists and special invitees.
A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) would be signed coinciding with the launch of the mission whose objective is to make the State best destination for investment by 2050. This mega event will also witness the unveiling of the State’s Industrial Policy and Sector Policies apart from the launch of a single-desk portal that grants clearances for industrial projects within 21 days.
The Industry Mission seeks to contribute to ‘Make in India’ initiative which will give a major thrust to the nation as well as State’s economy.
The State Government will sign 46 MoUs with companies drawn from India, Japan, UAE and Canada among others with a total investment outlay of about Rs 35,745 crore.
These MoUs will include investments in sectors from petrochemicals, energy, infrastructure, electronics, manufacturing, food processing, textile, automobiles, generating about 72,210 new jobs in the state.
The Chief Minister is expected to handover land allotment letters to Asian Paints for their plant near Visakhapatnam, ONGC for its Kakinada facility, KRIBCO (Nellore) and Kurlon (Chittoor).
Coinciding with the event, two panel discussions on “Igniting the start-up spirit in AP” and “Creating electronics manufacturing hub in Andhra Pradesh” will be held, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.
