Commenting on the acquittal of J Jayalalithaa, DMK leader MK Stalin said people can draw their own conclusions from this judgment. The DMK has been following the case with keen interest.
“The appeal was fast tracked in an unprecedented manner”, and the DMK had to step in at every juncture to try and ensure that this case did not turn out to be a farce, he said in a statement.
“The prosecution was given one day to submit its written argument while the defence was given two months,” he added. Irrespective of the verdict, the DMK will continue to work for a strong and vibrant Tamil Nadu, he said. “The people of our State are firmly behind us to remove the corrupt and regressive ADMK government.”
