Companies based in Australia have evinced interest in working with Andhra Pradesh in several sectors, including aquaculture and dairy sectors.
The move comes following an interaction Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had at the Indo-Australian Summit in Delhi last month.
Sean Kelly, Consul General of Australia, called on the Chief Minister at Secretariat and conveyed Australia’s intention to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh in various sectors of mutual interest, including aquaculture and dairy industry.
During the meeting, Kelly stated Australia specialises in sustainable fisheries management and could work with AP in this sector.
Apart from developing the State into a logistics hub, the Chief Minister outlined plans to set up six universities – Energy University, Water University, Hospitality University, Aquaculture University, Logistics University and Sports University.
Naidu was invited to visit Australia and be part of the major Seafood Convention to be hosted in Perth in October this year. The Chief Minister accepted the invitation and said he would send a delegation to Australia to study the country’s aquaculture industry.
