West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee said on Wednesday that the Government has given permission to 12 companies to set up industrial units across different State Government owned industrial parks.
The companies would bring in a combined investment of over Rs 2,000 crore and generate an employment for nearly 7850 people.
Chatterjee, however, did not mention the name of company, the type of units or the locations of their proposed facilities.
“We have cleared proposal for 12 companies across the different industrial parks of the state,” Chatterjee told reporters at Writers’ Buildings.
The proposals were cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, Industry and Employment headed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
