West Bengal Transport Minister, Madan Mitra, has once against been admitted to a city-based private hospital on account of failing health.
The move comes on a day when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) moved the Calcutta High Court contesting the bail granted to the minister by a lower court.
Mitra was arrested by the central investigation agency in December last year for his alleged complicity in the Saradha scam. After 11 months of judicial custody, the minister was granted bail on Saturday (October 31), by a lower court
Interestingly, Mitra had for the most part of his judicial custody period (post-arrest by the CBI), lodged himself in the VIP room of the Woodburn Ward of the state-run SSKM Hospital, complaining of various health-related issues and associated complications.
However, a few hours after getting bail (on October 31), SSKM Hospital doctors had declared the minister "fit" and he returned to his south Kolkata home on Sunday afternoon (November 1).
