The central leadership of the BJP on Tuesday released its manifesto for the Maharashtra elections, with a promise of making the State a $1-trillion economy and creating one crore jobs by 2024.

BJP is last of the political parties to release its manifesto for the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled to be held on October 21.

JP Nadda, National working president, released the 39-page document, which has made several promises in 13 major areas. From providing solar power to the farmers to a rehabilitation programme for families of police and armed forces, who have been killed in the line of duty, the document covers a whole gamut of issues. The manifesto has also promised efforts to seek Bharat Ratna awards for social reformers Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule and freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

Nadda, while releasing the manifesto, said that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has brought about a complete transformation of the political culture of Maharashtra. The State has moved from a fully corrupt one to corruption-free under Fadnavis.

Among the first set of promises made in the manifesto is to provide credit to the farmers at reasonable rates for which a new organisation will be set up with the help of the Centre. Providing piped water to rural households under the Marathwada water grid, too, finds mention.

In a complete departure from the past practices, the manifesto has stressed on the road conditions in the State and has said that a separate maintenance machinery will be set up for maintaining all kinds of roads in the State.

For port development and water-based transport, the Fadnavis Government government has also promised in the manifesto of redeveloping 10 ports on the Konkan coast for international trade and coastal passenger transport. The ports would be connected with dry ports in Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha.
