Condemning the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 sent to the AP Assembly as half-baked and full of flaws, the BJP said that the Bill did not address the concerns of the people of Seemandhra (coastal districts plus Rayalaseema) and it was a shoddy job done by the UPA Government just before elections to mislead the people of all the regions in the State.

The UPA Government had misled the people and all the parties, BJP State executive member B. Rangamohan said here on Tuesday. First the Congress party said that committee set up by the CWC would meet people from Seemandhra and tour the region and accommodate the concerns of the people of the region.

Then it announced that the members of the Group of Ministers would visit the State and give a hearing to the people’s views.

Both turned out to be empty promises and the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 was drawn up without even a single member of the Group of Ministers stepping on the Andhra Pradesh soil, he alleged.

He said the manner in which the draft Bill covered critical issues such as Polavaram Project, sharing of river waters, employees’ issues and capital for the new state, among others, was quite outrageous.

It clearly indicated that the Congress-led UPA Government had no interest in an amicable solution to the sharing of resources between the two states, he said. The BJP would stage demonstrations at all the district headquarters on January 10 and later the party leaders from the region would go to New Delhi and impress upon the BJP Central leadership not to allow this half baked draft Bill to be passed in Parliament.

He clarified that BJP floor leader in State Assembly G. Kishen Reddy would voice the concerns of the people of Seemandhra during the discussion on the draft Bill.
