The BJP has the capability to emerge as a decisive force in Telangana, according to Ch Vidyasagar Rao, a member of the party’s National Executive Committee.
Efforts to firm up an alliance with the TDP are aimed as consolidating its presence, he said at a press conference here. Alliances are being formed across the country only to ensure that the anti-Congress vote does not split, he added.
“When the Atal Behari Vajpayee-headed NDA Government was formed in 1999, we had managed to be extremely successful in Andhra Pradesh through the tie-up with TDP. A similar tie-up is now being worked out and senior leaders are in the process of finalising the deal,” he said
The talks between the BJP and TDP leaders are at an advanced stage and a formal decision is expected soon, he said.
Referring to the party manifesto now under preparation, he said law and order will be top priority.
Laying thrust on solar energy generation, he said that women empowerment will be amongst its priority areas.
