The winter session of Parliament started here on Thursday with disruptions.
Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day as the SP and BSP members stormed to the Well on two different issues.
While the SP members wanted rollback of the decision on limit on subsidised LPG cylinders, the BSP members were heard shouting slogans for the implementation of SC-ST quota in promotions.
SP leader, Ram Gopal Yadav, said his party will continue to raise the issue of cap on LPG cylinders in both the Houses.
"It is a big issue for the households," he said justifying the party's actions in both the Houses.
FDI in retail
He said it was up to the Speaker and the Chairman to take a decision on the motion for debating FDI in retail in Parliament. He said the party wants a debate, but refused to answer whether they favour voting on the issue.
BSP chief, Mayawati, said the Centre failed to implement its promise that the Bill for reservations in promotion will be brought on the first day of Parliament. The leaders of parties in both the Houses are meeting separately in the afternoon on breaking the logjam.
The BJP said the Congress is using its allies to counter the Opposition's charges. The party leader, Venkaiah Naidu, said the Congress does not want a debate on FDI in retail. "Their own allies are creating ruckus," he added.
The Houses expressed condolences at the demise of various dignitaries, including Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
