Noida-based AHA Taxis, a cab aggregator for outstation trips, has raised pre-series A funding lead by lead angels and its investors ah! Ventures. The quantum of funding was not immediately disclosed.
The company plans to invest the proceeds in technology and expansion of services to Bihar, Jharkhand and across pilgrimage destinations in India, the company said in a statement.
“The challenges we solve for an outstation taxi service are unique and different from local taxi services, while it’s easy to apply a surge in the local taxi business model when the demand rises. In outstation, we solve it by bringing the supply from low demand locations,” said Praveen Samariya, Chief Technology Officer at AHA Taxis.
“We are working on algorithms to optimise reverse fill rates. Auto allocation, taxi routing, shortest path algo to control pricing and availability. With the help of machine learning, the system would be able to understand seasonal demand, price and supply relations, and predict upcoming demand from select cities and routes,” he added.
AHA Taxis was launched in 2015 by entrepreneurs Amit Grover, Praveen Samariya, Kunal Krishna, Arayan Kummar Sharma and Shivam Mishra. At present, AHA Taxis operates in 4,000 cities.
