The governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are yet again getting into confrontation mode with the former constituting a special investigation team to probe various cases filed against the latter recently.
And top officials of the Telangana government met the State Governor ESL Narasimhan to update him on the latest developments in the cash-for-vote scam and about the possibility of issuing notices to some more people.
The day started of with two separate meetings held by both the Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao wherein the current developments in the cash-for-vote scam were discussed. The scam had resulted in the arrest of Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy and two others.
Thereafter, a special meeting was convened by Naidu wherein it was decided to press for implementation of Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act, which provides for handling of law and order in the common capital of Hyderabad by the Governor.
In another meeting, Director-General of Police of Telangana, Anurag Sharma, and Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahendar Reddy, met the Governor. There are indications that some more notices would be served on TDP leaders in the cash-for-vote scam, where nominated MLA, Elvis Stephenson, was sought to be bribed to support the TDP-BJP candidate in the recent polls to the Council.
