The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday assured the new residual State of Andhra Pradesh of all necessary support and cooperation in developing it and taking it on growth path.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also the Centre's support in developing the new State.

He said that we are now faced with the reality of division of the State and now look forward to rebuilding and developing both the States.

Earlier, Narendra Modi greeted Naidu and expressed his support in developing the State.

The grand swearing in ceremony was attended by many senior BJP leaders, including L.K.Advani and chief ministers of Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhatthisgarh, many Union Ministers among other leaders.

Art of Living leader Ravi Shankar, actor Pawan Kalyan were among other prominent persons at the event.

Advani spoke of long association of BJP with TDP and how it played a role in forming stable governments under Atal Behari Vajpayi.

He expressed confidence that both the States (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) will grow during the NDA regime at the Centre.

After the 19-member Cabinet was sworn in, Naidu signed five important files at the venue before addressing the large gathering.

These related to crop loan waiver, loan waiver for weavers and women self help groups, pensions, drinking water supply for poor in rural areas, cancellation of belt shops (unauthorised liquor shops) in villages and increasing the retirement age of Government staff from 58 to 60 years.
