The Centre has no role in the National Herald case which was filed by an individual during the Congress regime in 2012-13, according to Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, M Venkaiah Naidu.
Addressing newspersons at a press conference here on Sunday, Naidu said even though Manmohan Singh was the prime minister when the case was filed, Congress was blaming present Prime Minister Narendra Modi for political gains, he claimed.
"The Congress President Sonia Gandhi has said NDA is pursuing vendetta politics. In fact it is otherwise, the Minister said adding: "Do they want to bring pressure on the courts? It is unbecoming of a political party to protest against the court order…’’
Referring to the recent campaign by the Aam Admi Party (AAP) against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on alleged corruption in DDCA, Naidu said an investigation conducted by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) during the UPA regime at the Centre gave a clean chit to Jaitley.
