Power utility CESC Ltd has received 3,823 applications for temporary power connections during the Durga Puja days, as per a release sent by the company. Last year, it had provided 3,715 temporary connections.
On Saturday (October 17), CESC had met a maximum demand of 1,726 MW, which came down to 1,532 MW on Sunday (October 18).
According to the company, the total generation from Budge Budge, Titagarh, Southern and Haldia generating stations stood at 1725 MW. To ensure seamless power supply, about 10000 persons will be on duty.
CESC will also have 170 mobile vans on the roads during the festive days and apart from the regular helpline number ‘1912’, emergency calls can be made to two more additional ones: ‘9831079666’ and ‘9831083700’.
