The Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has urged the Government of Tamil Nadu to issue suitable orders to TNERC to facilitate the implementation of the newly announced solar energy policy, as it cannot directly issue the orders to TANGEDCO which needs to act in the matter.
In a letter addressed to the Energy Department, P. T. K. A. Balasubramanian, Secretary of the chamber, while welcoming the notification on the policy announcement, said that under section 108 of Elericity Act, TANGEDCO cannot act in implementing the policy without receiving orders from TNERC.
