Chennai Metro Rail Ltd today conducted trial run of the metro rail between Little Mount and Nanganallur Road in the elevated corridor covering a distance of 4 km.
The line is part of the Saidapet-Alandur-Airport elevated stretch of the Washermanpet-Airport corridor.
The trial run was done after four months of inauguration of the Chennai metro train service between Alandur and Koyambedu.
The trials will be conducted for a few months to test the signalling systems, electrical traction, oscillation of tracks and functioning of trains, according to CMRL.
The CMRL plans to commission the service between Alandur and Chennai airport by March 2016 even as construction of stations is progressing in this section.
