Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who describes himself as the nation’s chowkidar , is “shielding the corrupt such as YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy and unleashing the central agencies — the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the IT department — on his political opponents”, according to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu. He made the allegations at several election rallies at Narsipatnam, Chodavaram and other places in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
“Jaganmohan Reddy, we all know, is involved in no less than 11 cases of grave economic offences and they have been going on for years. He spent 14 months in Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad. He amassed huge wealth by such foul methods when his father was the Chief Minister of the undivided State. But he has a great friend and protector in Prime Minister Modi and a great supporter in Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao,” he alleged. He said the trio — Modi, Jagan and KCR — was out to destroy the State. “The time has come for everybody to stand up and be counted...the time of reckoning has come. Even Pawan Kalyan, Jana Sena leader, has to decide for himself which side he is on. Pawan! Do you want to support criminal elements in politics or do you want the welfare of your people and your State ? Decide for yourself,” he said.
“Let (VV) Lakshminarayana (former CBI official and Jana Sena member) explain to the Vizag public what the cases are all about. Let him explain what money laundering means, what quid pro quo means. They will know the real face of Jagan. Both Pawan and Lakshminarayana owe it to the public,” he said.
