The West Bengal Sundarban Affairs Department along with the Confederation of India Industry (CII) has come up with a two-month-long special training programme in two-wheeler repairs for 30 jobless youths in the Kakdwip area of South 24 Parganas district.
Kakdwip a sub-division in the South 24 Parganas district is located some 100-odd kms south of the city.
According to a CII release, post the training, 70 percent of these men will either get jobs or receive dedicated assistance from both the State Government and CII for self-employment. The project will involve classroom training – both theory and practical – and provide comprehensive support.
