Pursuant to the guidelines of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), of reducing the prices of Domestic Natural Gas from $ 5.05 per mmBtu to $ 4.66 per mmBtu, the gas distribution companies in Gujarat have cut the prices of CNG and PNG in the state.
The State-run GSPC Gas Company has reduced the price of PNG and CNG in the state. The State Energy Minister Saurabh Patel informed that currently Central government is supplying the natural gas to meet the demand for the domestic gas and CNG. "Considering the reduction in the gas prices by the Centre, the state-owned GSPC Gas Company has decided to reduce its PNG and CNG prices with effect from April 2, 2015," said Patel in a statement here.
As per the announcement, the PNG gas will be cheaper by Rs 1.17 per standard cubic meter (scm), while CNG will be cheaper by Rs 1.30 per kg (inclusive of all taxes).
The minister mentioned that about 10.50 lakh PNG consumers and 2.50 lakh CNG consumers will be directly benefited from the reduction in prices.
Also, private sector gas distributor, Adani Gas announced reduction in CNG and PNG prices for its Ahmedabad and Vadodara market.
