The Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ten top priorities announced on Thursday.

“The Prime Minister’s open attitude of welcoming novel and innovative ideas from his Cabinet and providing freedom to bureaucrats will boost the confidence of people in our democratic system,” CP Mammen, President of the Chamber, said in a statement.

“The thrust given to improving coordination among government departments can bring down red-tapism significantly and will accelerate the decision-making process. We welcome the idea of promoting E-auction for tendering and other governmental work as this will bring in more transparency to the process and can bring down the corruption level.”

Mammen said efficient governance, delivery and implementation seemed to be the hallmarks of the new government. The government’s focus on containing inflation is commendable, he said.
