Cognizant Foundation – the CSR arm of the BPO and IT major Cognizant, has funded the setting up of a science gallery, estimated at a cost of ₹7 lakh, in Thambithottam Higher Secondary School, Gandhigram , near here.
The QED (Quest Explore Discover) lab, with over 100 science concept-based working models and exhibits that facilitate hands–on learning, will provide students in the rural area, with an opportunity to develop their skills through experiential science learning and help improve their competitive skills in areas such as model making, problem solving, presentation skills, etc.

Madhavan, CEO, Cognizant Foundation, speaking on the occasion, said that other schools and colleges in the area could utilise the lab. Krishna Srinivasan, Founder and Chairman, Everest Edusys and Solutions, Pvt. Ltd, added that a QED Teachers Learn Lab will be set up at Lakshmi College of Education, Gandhigram soon and would strive to work with more such collaborative establishments to create Learn Labs at Teachers Training colleges in every district in the next six months, said a press release.
