As Congress attacked the government over the police action following a JNU event, BJP today said that party was “siding” with anti-India forces which showed the frustration and confusion in its ranks.
“Rahul Gandhi is confused and Congress is frustrated. They are unable to digest the popularity of the Modi government. It is indeed height of negative politics that Congress has sided with anti-national forces to target the government,” BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
“After anti-India slogans were raised and terrorists hailed as martyrs in JNU, Congress leaders were questioning why the government was not taking any action. Now the action is being taken, so they are opposing it. It shows their frustration and confusion,” he said.
The BJP leader accused Congress of using educational institutions like Hyderabad Central University and JNU, and students as political tools.
“Congress is poisoning the atmosphere in these institutions where thousands of students from poor background come for studies. They are India’s future. The opposition party should not use them for its political purposes,” Sharma said.
Rahul had yesterday visited JNU campus and accused the government of suppressing the students voice. BJP, in turn, accused him of speaking in the voice of LeT founder and terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
