The Congress Party promises to protect and enhance Brand Hyderabad and create Brand Telangana in international IT map, safeguarding the interests of all sections of people and promote it as a safe destination for investments.
For the IT industry, the party promises incentives to IT firms that set up units in rural areas. The party said the Congress government review the slab system in film ticketing. It would encourage exhibitors to set up 100-seater film theatres in small towns and rural areas. It assures to tackle the piracy problem as well.
It promises to establish new industrial corridors, which will be designated as special economic zones, and power projects to tap all available resources if voted back to power in Telangana. The party manifesto said it will increase the retirement age to 60 years and creation of one lakh jobs every year.
For farmers, it promises to give a one-time ₹ 10,000 incentive and set up a ₹ 1,000-crore Market Intervention Fund to protect the interests of farmers. A State-level Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) will be constituted to give minimum support price for all important crops in the region.
Talking on the manifesto, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Ponnala Lakshmaiah said the party, if elected to power, will give an assistance of ₹ one lakh to each self-help group.
He, however, evaded a question on the likely cost of the promises made in the manifesto.
