Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), active in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, is focusing on promoting entrepreneurial skills among rural women, according to A Subhashini, President of the AP chapter.
She was speaking here on Wednesday at the inaugural of the Visakhapatnam branch of COWE.
She said COWE, AP chapter, based at Vijayawada, had been conducting entrepreneurship development programmes at various places like Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Guntur and other towns for the past few years. Now, it would focus its attention on the north-coastal Andhra towns as well.
She said the Andhra Pradesh Government had allotted 16 acres to COWE at Mallavalli industrial estate near Nuzvidu in Krishna district and 40 units by women entrepreneurs were coming up there.
A trade expo would be conducted here by COWE from August 3-5 at the YMCA hall and 100 stalls would be put up to exhibit the products, she added.
Y Geetha Srikanth, President of the Vizag branch, Himabindu, C. Bharati, and several others spoke.
R Veerabhadra Rao, senior branch manager of the National Small-Scale Industries Corporation (Visakhapatnam), who was the chief guest, promised all help to the women entrepreneurs from his organisation.
