Curfew lifted, Bengaluru returns to normal

Curfew was lifted in Bengaluru as normalcy returned on Wednesday, after incidents violence and arson rocked the city on Monday.

City police commissioner NS Megharikh said curfew has been lifted in all the 16 localities though the police is keeping a close watch on sensitive areas. Most of the IT companies which have been shut since Monday reopened today, but allowed employees to work from home. All the schools and colleges will reopen tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Vatal Nagaraj-led Kannada Chaluvali Party is learnt to have given a call for a “rail roko” on the Bengaluru-Mysuru route on Thursday.

TN bandh on Friday

PTI reports that opposition parties have extended their support to the September 16 Tamil Nadu bandh called by various traders and farmers bodies in the State over the Cauvery row.
