The total credit outlay for Dakshina Kannada district has been set at ₹18,000 crore for 2020-21. Of this, ₹13,399 crore has been earmarked for the priority sector.
According to the district credit plan for 2020-21, Of the the priority sector outlay, ₹7,498 crore has been earmarked for agriculture. Allocation to other sectors such as MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises), stood at ₹3,716 crore, housing ₹1,300 crore, and education ₹154 crore.
A press release by the lead bank of the district said the total disbursement in Dakshina Kannada was ₹20,416.10 crore during 2019-20 as against the target of ₹17,500 crore for the year. For priority sector it was ₹12,111.69 crore as against the target of ₹12,659.04.
