DHRUVA-3 inauguration on Monday

DHRUVA-3, a high performance computing system developed by Indian defence scientists will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Defence Jitendra Singh on Monday.

The Minster will also inaugurate the silver jubilee celebrations of the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), the premier missile development laboratory in Hyderabad along with former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.

DHRUVA-3, developed by ANURAG, one of the labs under the Defence Research and Development Organisation, will be useful in computational fluid dynamics design for aircraft and air-borne systems, simulation of complex systems and stress analysis of materials.

ANURAG is involved in the design and development of indigenised systems and products to solve and compute complex mission related applications.

The Minister will also inaugurate a Gallery at “Vigyana Kancha” in RCI (Research Centre Imarat).

The Governor of Andhra Pradesh will release a souvenir followed by the release of a video marking RCI’s twenty five years by the former President of India.

The RCI, whose foundation stone was laid on August 3, 1985 by the then Prime Minister of India late Rajiv Gandhi was inaugurated on August 27, 1988, by the then President late R Venkataraman.

The RCI is entrusted with R&D in the areas of control engineering, inertial navigation, Imaging Infrared seekers, on-board computers, flight simulation and mission software said G. Satish Reddy, present Director.
