The sale price of diesel extended its lead on petrol prices in the national capital on Thursday. This is after the price of petrol was hiked by 16 paise per litre, and diesel by 14 paise a litre. After the latest hike, petrol sold at ₹79.92 a litre and diesel at ₹80.02 a litre in Delhi.
The price of petrol has risen by ₹8.66 a litre while diesel is up by ₹10.63 a litre in consecutive hikes spreading over 19 days.
On Wednesday, it was the first time in history that diesel was more expensive than petrol in the national capital.
