The Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy (DIPP) is ready to support and provide help to the West Bengal Government to upgrade its industrial parks and leather park.

According to Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, DIPP, the department is also ready to consider a package for this.

Abhishek was speaking at an interactive session organised by the CII Eastern Region here on Saturday.

“There is no reason why West Bengal will not become one of the principal hubs of industrial growth in the country,” a CII release quoted the secretary.

According to him, once the Amritsar-Kolkata dedicated freight corridor becomes operational around March 2019, there will be a sea change in the State’s industrial climate.

“DIPP is there for help. We know entrepreneurship needs a helping hand, and we are ready to help you in things like setting up incubation centres, world-class training, patent facilitation,” Abhishek was quoted as per the CII release.
