DPSC Ltd is developing a 220 KV substation at J.K. Nagar in Burdwan district in West Bengal. While it will be owned by West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (WBSETCL), DPSC will operate it.
According to a press release, the power utility will also construct a transmission line along a 15 km route connecting the upcoming JK Nagar substation with Mangalpur in Burdwan. The transmission line is expected to be commissioned this fiscal.
The total project cost is estimated at nearly Rs 117 crore, the release noted.
While commissioning of this substation would help make power available at the doorstep at Raniganj and its adjoining areas, it would attract new industries in the coal belt, Hemant Kanoria, Chairman, DPSC Ltd, was quoted saying.
