Reflecting a slight cause of concern for job seekers, a new survey has found that the number of recruiters expecting new jobs to be created has dropped marginally.

According to the Naukri Hiring Outlook released on Wednesday, about 66 per cent recruiters expect new jobs to be created in the second half of 2015, a 3 per cent drop compared with 69 per cent in the first half of 2015.

While IT sector led the pack with most participants expecting maximum job creation, 41 per cent respondents expected maximum job creation in the sector in the second half, down significantly from 56 per cent expecting the same in the first half of the year.

Naukri Hiring Outlook is a half yearly survey which gauges the hiring sentiment across sectors and industries. The survey was conducted among more than 1,900 recruiters and consultants.

Increments

The study said that 40 per cent recruiters had expected to give increments in the range of 10-15 per cent in the beginning of the year but only 34 per cent recruiters actually gave increments in that range.

However, while only 16 per cent of recruiters had expected to give increments in the range of 15-20 per cent in the beginning of the year, 22 per cent recruiters actually gave out increments in that range. This trend was led by the auto, BFSI, media and internet and construction and engineering industries.

Attrition

As per the survey, while in the beginning of the year, 8 per cent recruiters had said that the attrition rate in their organisation was above 20 per cent, in the second half of 2015, 11 per cent recruiters admitted to more than 20 per cent attrition.
