Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet economists, sectoral experts at NITI Aayog to deliberate on steps that could be taken to boost growth and generate employment. The Central Statistics Office last week said that India’s growth is likely to slow down to 6.5 per cent in 2017-18, the lowest under the Modi-led government.

The Department of Telecom will hold separate meetings on call drops with operators as well as regulator TRAI Over the last two years, service quality in telecom has been a burning issue. Under TRAI’s new Quality of Service formula, that came into force on October 1, 2017, telecom operators may face a maximum penalty of Rs 10 lakh for call drops which will be measured at mobile tower level instead of telecom circle level.
