After many educated Naga women taking to commercial cultivation of flowers under Horticulture Technology Mission (HTM), the turnover of floriculture business is estimated at around Rs 10 crore in the state.
Joint director of Horticulture, Ms Watiyienla Jamir, said that from a mere Rs 1 lakh venture, Nagaland was now earning not less than Rs 10 crore from floriculture.
She was addressing the flower growers at a flower arrangement competition, organised by Eastern Creatives, Kohima at Department of Under Developed Area (DUDA) guest house here yesterday.
She said the department started promoting floriculture only in four districts but now spread to other districts.
