The foundation stone for the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh named Amaravati is likely to be laid on June 2.
A decision on this has been taken by the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday.
Master plan for the new capital city, designed by Singapore, has been finalised.
As the residual State of Andhra Pradesh also completes one full year next month post the creation of Telangana State in June 2014, the Chief Minister is considering moving into a Camp Office in Vijayawada on June 2 and function from there during his stay.
A committee has been formed to allocate officials to facilitate administration.
