Within three weeks of commencement of the e—registration facility for service providers and trades, Goa Tourism department has so far successfully issued 500 e—registration certificates.
The department received an overwhelming response to the facility launched on World Tourism Day on September 27, State Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar told a press conference here today.
“It is a big achievement to issue 500 e—registration certificates to various tourism trades. The facility has reduced the waiting period for registration certificates and it is not only fast but also systematic and transparent,” he said.
Parulekar said the facility will be tasked further by bringing in more verticals and making it a truly single window system.
Tourism department director Ameya Abhyankar apprised that they receive around 45 new applications daily and after the completion of all procedures, authorised e—registration certificates are issued to the applicants. And as many as 40 to 45 such certificates are issued daily.
Since the launch of facility, Abhyankar said, a total of 914 applications have been received and these have come from water sports operators, taxi operators, travel agents and hotels.
So far, a total of 388 taxi operators and 123 water sports operators have received the certificates.
The facility will avail service providers to offer online booking, registration facility for tourists like making online booking for cab service, water sports etc.
