Gold seized at Mangalore airport

The Customs Department seized two gold bars, weighing 2 kg and valued at ₹54.20 lakh, from a passenger at Mangalore International Airport on Tuesday night. A press release from the Customs Department said here on Wednesday that the gold was concealed inside the shoes of the passenger, Ibrahim Kaleel Ebrahim Kunnil. The passenger, who is a resident of Kudlu in Kasaragod district of Kerala, arrived from Dubai in Air India Express flight at 10 pm. He was arrested and remanded to to judicial custody till June 17.
