Hours after BS Yeddyurappa assumed office as Chief Minister, several top officers were transferred and a new Advocate General was appointed.
Senior advocate Prabhuling K Navadagi was appointed Advocate-General in place of Madhusudan R Naik, who has since resigned. Governor Vajubhai Vala appointed Navadagi to the post with immediate effect, a government notification said.
M Lakshminarayana, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department, was named the Additional CS to the Chief Minister. Amar Kumar Pandey, now Additional DGP, Railways, has been made ADGP, Intelligence. Deputy IG, Karnataka State Reserve Police, Sandeep Patil will be the DIG, Intelligence. D Devaraja, the Bidar SP has been transferred to Bengaluru Central division as the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
This swift and sudden move has unnerved the JD(S)-Congress combine, which is now planning to shift its MLAs, currently being housed in a Bengaluru resort, to a location in Kerala.
In fact, the government has withdrawn security cover to the Eagleton resort, where the MLAs are.
Yeddyurappa, who met the newly-elected BJP legislators, has instructed and tasked few Lingayats BJP MLAs to reach out to the JD(S) and Congress MLAs to lure them.
