Hablis – a new 120-room 3-star hotel on Grand Southern Trunk Road (GST Road) near Guindy, is all set to be launched next week.
The promoter of the property, Rajesh Devarajan, is from a family of real estate developers, which owns some land banks. The hotel has come up at an investment of a little over Rs 60 crore (excluding land value) – 70 per cent own equity and 30 per cent as debt from Indian Bank.
The hotel will have three food and beverage outlets – one coffee shop, ‘Irish’ restaurant and bar, and a roof-top restaurant. It will also house a banqueting hall, which can take up to 350 people at a time. Targeted mainly at corporate clients, the rooms are to be priced at Rs 6,000 a night – and “of course, will come at a discount initially”, he said.
According to him, the hotel’s main draw would be its Irish bar and restaurant, which is designed and built by an Irish designer. “Even the floor, roof and furniture are made in Ireland and assembled here,” said Devarajan.
K. Srinivasan, Vice-President, Hablis Hotels Pvt Ltd, says the hotel will be soft launched on June 12 with close to 60 rooms. The coffee shop and the banqueting hall will also be opened. The company is recruiting people now.
He expects that in a month from now, the remaining rooms and F&B outlets will be unveiled.
