To enhance per acre yield and encourage diversification of crops, the Haryana government is providing subsidy on certified seeds.
A spokesman of Haryana Seed Development Corporation (HSDC) said farmers of four districts —Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal and Panipat — were being provided with seeds on subsidised rate for Rabi crops.
He said various varieties of wheat including DBW-17, PBW-550, PBW-502, PBW-590, PBW-343, PBW-373, WH-711, WH-542 and HD-2851, HD-2894, are being provided at the rate of Rs 2,050 per quintal as against its original price of Rs 2,550 per quintal.
The farmers are being given a subsidy of Rs 500 per quintal, he added.
He said that HC-1 variety of gram costing Rs 8,000 per quintal is being provided at a rate of Rs 5,800 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 2,200.
Similarly, varieties of Sapna and Garima of lentil costing Rs 6,100 per quintal is being provided at Rs 4,900 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 1,200 whereas its variety HM-1 is being provided at Rs 4,900 per quintal as against its original cost of Rs 7100 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 2,200.
