The Haryana government has signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) with four independent power producers for setting up of five biomass power projects of 51 MW capacities that envisage an investment of Rs 230 crore.
Out of these, two projects are likely to be commissioned soon, a government spokesman said today.
Haryana is one of the leading state in implementing energy conservation programmes, he added.
He said that a 6 MW small hydro project with an investment of Rs 58 crore will come up at Dadupur, Yamuna Nagar, 2 MW project with an investment of Rs 22 crore at Gogripur, Karnal, 1.4 MW small hydro project with an investment of Rs 16 crore at Musapur, district Karnal and 1.4 MW small hydro project with an investment of Rs 16 crore at Khukni, district Karnal.
