Fast moving electrical goods company Havells India today announced the launch of innovative switchgear products for home and commercial applications designed and developed in-house.
The company, which commands a market share of about 28 per cent in the country’s ₹2,100-2,200-crore switchgear market and is ranked No.1, expects to consolidate its position with the new advanced products.
AV Jagdish, Vice-President and Head of Switchgear Segment, said: “The launch of these switchgear products is part of the company’s growth strategy to strengthen its presence but also to fortify presence in innovation and manufacturing capabilities.”
Launching new switchgear products, including the range spanning Automatic Changeover with Current Limiter (ACCL), Miniature Circuit Breaker and Residual Current Circuit Breaker here today, he explained that these products are aimed at preventing the problem of power instability and inefficient power distribution. ACCL is a fully automatic high precision microcontroller based changeover device that helps manage power cuts and switchover to generator mode and vice versa. The new range is being manufactured at the company’s switchgear plant at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
Jagdish said the company closed last financial year with a turnover of ₹8,500 crore and registering a growth of about 13 per cent.
