Unabated rains continued to lash Hyderabad, throwing life out of gear in the city. Low-lying areas in several parts of the city are inundated with flood waters, and severely damaged roads and water logging has led to huge traffic jams.
Several schools have declared a holiday today.
The weathermen have forecast heavy rains in Hyderabad and some other parts of Telangana. Several districts in the state including Warangal and Nalgonda have also reported heavy rain. Several rivulets and canals are in spate.
With rains creating havoc, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao held a review meeting with officials to take stock of the situation and take remedial measures.
His son and Municipal Administration and IT Minister, K T Rama Rao, too held a meeting with officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to take up necessary measures to improve the situation.
An advisory released by the Indian Meteorological Department said there would be a let up in the rains from Thursday.
