Fifty NCC cadets from classes 9 and 10 today began a three-day campaign on traffic etiquette.
The “Stop before Stop Line” drive kickstarted by Honda 2-wheeler India in collaboration with Coimbatore Traffic Police was confined to two major traffic intersections on Avinashi Road – the Anna Statue signal and LIC signal.
The cadets took to the roads at peak hours in the morning, holding ropes and banners and spreading the message that vehicles should always stop before the pedestrian crossing to enable the public to cross the road safely.
Two traffic policemen at the signal stopped the incoming traffic before the stop line, post which the cadets marched in with a long rope and a banner with the message “Stop Before Stop Line”.
Students also distributed stickers promoting the message.
Honda’s latest initiative is part of its commitment to promote the cause of road safety in Coimbatore.
