The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad has been rated as the best airport in India and fifth best regional airport in Asia at the recent World Airport Awards ceremony. Operated by the GMR Group, the airport was also adjudged the eight best airport in the five to ten million passenger capacity.
The awards were declared after responses from 12 million passengers during a 10-month survey, covering over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product factors, covering arrival at an airport, transit and departure. The airport recently completed its second phase of modification of the terminal building, a statement said.
