In yet another important step towards commissioning of another metro link of the Hyderabad metro rail project, the Chief Electrical Inspector to the Government of India (CEIG), DVS Raju, on Wednesday inspected another stretch, now in an advanced stage of construction.
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd, the special purpose vehicle implementing the elevated metro rail project, said Raju inspected 33kV and 415V indoor substations completed from Dilsukhnagar to Gandhi Bhavan metro stations.
This inspection is part of the process for according sanction for 'energisation' of stations, which will facilitate testing and commissioning activities of railway systems such as signalling, telecommunication and automatic fare collection on this section. The metro rail stations, which were inspected, received power at 33 kV voltage from the 132/33/25 kV Receiving Substation (RSS) located at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station.
After the inspection Raju said, “Commissioning of these stations will provide great impetus for furthering the progress and completion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail section from Ameerpet to LB Nagar of Corridor-I.”
When commissioned, this will complete one full stretch on Corridor I from Miyapur to Dilsukhnagar. Late last year, a 30-km stretch connecting two lines of different corridors were commissioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The metro authorities expect to commission 66 km across three corridors of the 72-km metro line by the end of this year.
